Brook Logan is the trading identity responsible for this website and is the data controller for personal information collected through brooklogan.com.

The information we collect
When you send a collaboration enquiry, we collect your name, email address, company (if supplied), project type, budget range, desired date (if supplied), message and the date and time of your submission.
When you join the mailing list, we collect your email address and the date and time of your signup. The mailing-list provider may also record delivery, unsubscribe and engagement information, depending on how that service is configured.
When you use the site, Vercel, our hosting provider, may process technical information needed to deliver and protect it, including your IP address, browser and device information, requested page, request time and security logs. We also temporarily use an IP-derived identifier to limit repeated form submissions.
We normally receive personal information directly from you. If someone contacts us on behalf of a company or project and includes your details, we may receive your name, role and business contact information from them.
Why we use it and our lawful bases
We use collaboration-enquiry information to review and respond to your proposal, discuss availability and terms, and take steps you ask us to take before a possible contract. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering a contract. Where an enquiry is made for a company, or where we keep a record of communications, we also rely on our legitimate interests in managing genuine business enquiries, maintaining business records and protecting legal rights.
We use your email address to send creator news and updates only when you have asked to join the mailing list. Our lawful basis under the UK GDPR is consent. Electronic marketing is also sent in accordance with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations. You can withdraw consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in an email or contacting us. Withdrawal does not affect earlier lawful processing.
We use limited technical and security information to operate the site, prevent spam, enforce submission limits, diagnose problems and protect the service. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure, reliable website. We do not use the information collected through this site for solely automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Who receives your information
We use service providers only where needed to operate this site and communicate with you. These include Vercel for website hosting and security, Resend for delivering collaboration enquiries, Proton for receiving and storing enquiry emails, and the mailing-list service connected to the newsletter form. Each provider receives only the information needed for its role and is required to protect it under applicable contractual and legal obligations.
We may also disclose information to professional advisers, regulators, courts, law-enforcement bodies or other parties where reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, comply with the law, or protect people and the service. We do not sell your personal information.
International transfers
Some service providers may store or access personal information outside the United Kingdom. Where a restricted transfer takes place, we require it to be covered by UK adequacy regulations or appropriate safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to approved standard contractual clauses, together with a transfer risk assessment where required.

How long we keep it
Collaboration enquiries that do not lead to work are normally kept for up to 24 months after the last meaningful contact. If an enquiry leads to a contract, relevant correspondence and transaction records may be kept for up to seven years after the relationship ends where needed for tax, accounting, contractual or legal purposes.
Mailing-list records are kept until you unsubscribe, we close the list, or we identify the address as no longer usable. We may retain a minimal suppression record after you unsubscribe so that we honour your choice and do not add you back by mistake.
Form rate-limit identifiers are held in temporary server memory for approximately one hour. Hosting and security logs are kept for the periods set by the hosting provider, subject to our configuration and legal or security needs. When a retention period ends, information is deleted or anonymised unless it is reasonably required for a legal claim or legal obligation.
Cookies and browser storage
The public site does not currently use advertising or analytics cookies. If you choose to enter the age-restricted area, we store a first-party functional cookie named brook_age_acknowledgement for up to one year and an acknowledgement timestamp in your browser's local storage. These remember your choice; they do not verify your age and are not used for advertising.
You can clear this acknowledgement from the age-restricted page or through your browser settings. The site may also use strictly necessary hosting and security technologies required to deliver and protect the service. We will update this notice and, where required, ask for consent before introducing non-essential cookies or similar technologies.
Your data protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask us for access to your personal information, correction of inaccurate information, deletion, restriction of processing, or transfer of information you provided in a portable format. You may also withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
You have the right to object at any time to processing based on legitimate interests, including related profiling. You also have an absolute right to object to the use of your information for direct marketing.
Email brooklogan@protonmail.com to exercise a right. We usually respond within one month and do not normally charge a fee. We may ask for information needed to verify your identity. Some rights are subject to legal conditions and exemptions, and we will explain if a request cannot be met in full.
Complaints
Please contact us first if you have a concern so we can try to resolve it. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, by telephone on 0303 123 1113, or by post to Information Commissioner's Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF.
Providing information, external links and changes
You do not have a statutory or contractual duty to provide information through this site. However, we cannot respond to an enquiry without the required contact and project details, or send newsletter updates without an email address.
This site links to services operated by other organisations. Their own privacy notices apply when you use those services. We may update this notice when our providers, forms, legal obligations or business practices change. The effective date will show when the latest version took effect, and material changes will be highlighted where appropriate.
